When you are a healer and don't know it - find your true calling

I was about to write a post "how to improve your digestion" but my heart is in my spirit right now, after all this is a place, where I am going to write about parasites, organic underwear and hugging treas - so today I want to be more spiritual to hopefully help you find your calling, and share with you how I didn't know that my true calling was to be a healer, and how you might not know it either.

Because our world has very few shamans left, it is unusual for us to chose or feel the calling to become a healer. How can you know you are a healer if this "job" is not even in offer anymore. I am lucky that my mom was a healer, (despite she didn't know it herself until now when we openly talked about it) but she has never hidden under a mask, and it made it easier for me to understand my true calling. She used to take me to alternative medicine doctors - where I was absolutely fascinated by all their healing methods, I could usually quickly judge if the doctor had good or bad intentions and what their energy was. I also knew if my "friends" were good or bad, and I could easily read their intentions. My particular favorite one changing experience was the Reiki initiations when I was around 13. I remember that by becoming a Reiki healer, I finally felt like someone understand my energy, even thou I still hide my thoughts deep inside me. I never really shared much about my healing and "scanning sickness and energy" abilities until recently. Now I use it to listen to my body, but also often points into problems people can't even see themselves (despite the fact something in deed bothers them).
So how to know if you are a healer if you don't know ? Few things I particularly find in all healers, which could be helpful to you.

1. If you are very sensitive
Being healer - always goes with being very sensitive. Be careful, as it's very easy to get trapped in materialistic world when you are a sensitive being, so you might hide it very well from others, but you can't hide it from you forever.
It is natural to hide, you look around and see all this people surrounding themselves with material belongings and you do the same. Put a mask of "being strong". Find help in shopping instead of dealing with problems. But deep down you know that there is more and if you are a healer whether you want it or not, your true calling will manifest to you at some point.

2. You want to change the world
You naturally want to live in peace with nature and people, sometimes you might even feel like cutting yourself from the negativity that is happening, but deep down you want o make a change. I am personally sensitive enough to feel the pain of the planet, animals or mistreated people, and I naturally want to bring peace through love and live without charming anything or anyone. If you feel like your calling is to change the world, you might often find yourself trying to heal the nature and animals - because in fact your soul is a healing soul.

3. You went through traumatic experiences or are chronically ill
To become a healer, you had to stumble through pain and difficult past. Without difficult experiences you would never be able to understand others. Only true sufferer can understand someone who suffers, and only this way you can connect with another being on the same frequency.
On the other hand, often healers can't heal themselves until they understand their true calling. It's not uncommon for healers to suffer with autoimmune diseases - where body attacks itself. It is natural that if you live denying your true calling, you create sickness in your own body, and only when you become in alignment with yourself - your body will go back to homeostasis. It is also natural that being extremely sensitive you develop anxieties or panic attacks when feeling all this energies of other people, it also can be overwhelming and create sickness.
Traumatic experiences could have also happened in your past life.
Today, you might mask yourself and try to fit in, as perhaps from the past life, your soul is still afraid to be different. You might not even remember to suffer in the past, but it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Let me elaborate- as this is especially personal to me- I have never been laughed at when I talked about my ability to feel people energies, when I was healing my friends using Reiki, or when I started talking to strangers about their personal problem, when they didn't even tell me that they have one. Despite that I was terrified to admit to my true nature. In face to face conversation I can be myself and most of the time eventually be comfortable enough to talk about being a healer, but give me a bigger audience and I run. I am or perhaps was really scared to open up about my true being - and it could have a lot to do with some traumas from the past life. I knew and refused to admit to my true nature, for a long time. It took me few years and many conversations with people who have read my calling to finally admit and "come clean".

4. You are an introvert
If you are an introvert, and your favorite time spend is with yourself learning about yourself, your soul, listening to your thoughts, asking yourself spiritual questions - it is quite natural for healers to go inwards as they feel most comfortable there, as well as they are eager to learn more, so they can help others. You also need way more time to recharge. Healing others, either by just your energies, or simply by conversation can be exhausting. Often healers need a lot more time to recharge their energy as well as sleep to restore completely. Remember that being an old shaman, you are sensitive and all those healing processes might be very exhausting for you - always take time to recharge - you have to come first.

5. You are a bridge
If you feel like you are a hippi and with one leg alone in the tropical jungle, and one in the city to bring awareness - I never quite belong to the hippi community, neither did I belong to the city - I enjoyed both in moderation, and until I understood I am a bridge I felt a bit lost. Healer role is to be a bridge and spread awareness in the modern world, but also take energy from the universe (outside the modern world). You might need to spend some time with other healers, or in the nature, in order to learn, experience and be ready to bring the knowledge to the modern world.

Use this ability wisely. I know you know and feel that the change is coming, and more and more people become aware, and you also have to be ready to help people get to the roots of who they really are, and find the balance between the modern materialistic world and the spiritual energetic world.

6. Nature is talking to you
My absolute favorite one! As you know I spend my childhood years hating nature for the allergy I was getting from pollen. How could I know nature was speaking to me if I was never outside? I still not used to being able to spend time outside, sometimes forget and easily get mentally sick. Natures speaks to me in every way, and I can get very sick if I avoid it for few days when surrounding myself with energies from computers and phones.
It is enough to go outside and do some earthing - like stand barefoot on the ground (my favorite activity as a child) or hug a tree and I can physically feel the energy running out of me - the sickness leaving my body.
I also experience energy filling my body right before the moons, as well as meeting other healers, and souls from the past (soul mates) around the full moons and new moons. Well all I can say nature is your true home.

Do people share with you their life problems without even asked? Have you heard you have this good energy? Do you feel like you somehow just understand people without them even sharing their problems? Did you say yes? Is this all familiar ? Congratulations you are probably a healer.

TIPS HOW TO DEAL WITH BEING A HEALER

I have learn to accept my calling now, and I have learn to deal with it, as a blessing it looks to some, it is not after all unicorns and rainbows. You have to know that you have been gifted and even if hard at times, try to look at the bright side - at least now you know why you have felt this way, and you can use it in your everyday life, or career wise.
My tips to deal with it (please let me know of your tips if you have some, as I still learn it myself)
1. Take as much recovery time as needed! - Sleep, take time for yourself, remember about healing yourself as well.
2. Spend as much time in nature as possible!
3. Cleanse often - energetically, use nature for that purpose- trees are great, but nothing is better than a wild water - so waterfall or ocean is also great. You can also take baths in Himalayan salt with some essential oils.
In case you surround yourself with a toxic people - cleanse as often as you need, try to avoid toxic people around you, and try to carefully chose who you spend time with, hug with or sleep with - this all will suck your energy and in exchange give you negative one.
4. Use aromatherapy - especially relaxing and cleansing oils. My favorite one is Ylang Ylang oil, which really helps my anxieties.
5. Meditate and do yoga and reiki- learning to observe your thoughts and switching them off is great - especially if you tend to overthink and over-feel. Reiki done to yourself, or by others might help you a lot to balance your chakras. I love doing reiki right after I do yoga, as my mind is completely switched off and I can experience the energy flow much stronger.
6. Take it easy - remember that just because you are more spiritual, and sensitive, doesn't mean you can't still enjoy modern ways of living - and try to find a balance - after all it is your calling, but you don't have to give up yourself to help others! Remember to be selfish sometimes and take care of yourself first!
